VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud now available to Partners through the Partner Connect Program
Starting June 1, 2020, VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud is now available for our Cloud Provider partners through the Partner Connect Program. VMware is now offering its SD-WAN solution, from VeloCloud acquisition, through its partner channel. VMware consolidated various partner programs into a single Partner Connect Program. VMware SD-WAN is available through both Resell and Cloud Provider tracks.
Within the Cloud Provider track of the Partner Connect Program, VMware SD-WAN solution is offered as Cloud Provide Model, a term-based subscription for both the software and hardware components. The Cloud Provider Model is differentiated from the Rental and MSP models with the SD-WAN solution software being offered as both VMware hosted and as a downloadable version for partners to run on their own premises. The SD-WAN hardware component is offered as both CapEx (single payment) and OpEx (multiple payments over the term of subscription) models for maximum flexibility.
VMware SD-WAN, has been named a Leader in the 2018 and 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for WAN Edge Infrastructure and placed furthest on Completeness of Vision. VMware SD-WAN™ by VeloCloud® simplifies branch WAN networking by automating deployment and improving performance over private, broadband Internet and LTE links for today’s increasingly distributed enterprises. VMware SD-WAN includes a choice of public, private, or hybrid cloud network for enterprise-grade connection to cloud and enterprise applications; branch office enterprise appliances and optional data center appliances; software-defined control and automation; and virtual services delivery.
VMware SD-WAN for Cloud Providers:
Enterprises are moving toward a multi-cloud deployment. They started with moving their mission-critical workloads to Cloud/Service Provider (CP/SP) hosted cloud offerings. Then they are starting to consume more and more of their applications as SaaS offerings, such as Office365 and Oracle ERP/CRM clouds. Further, as the next step toward a true hybrid-IT model, enterprises are also consuming IaaS & PaaS offerings from public clouds, such as AWS and Azure. Figure 1 below shows such a hybrid-IT deployment with some popular SaaS services
Figure 1: A typical Enterprise Hybrid-cloud Deployment with SaaS Consumption
As enterprises move more and more of their mission-critical workloads to Cloud/Service Provider cloud offerings, application availability, performance, and end-user experience have to match their on-prem deployments. Applications are being delivered from within Cloud Provider hosted cloud and public clouds (such as VMC on AWS) over the WAN/broadband network to enterprise users in branches. The WAN is increasingly becoming an increasingly important aspect of meeting application-level SLAs.
With these multi-cloud and cloud-native application trends, Enterprises face three challenges:
- Lower Application Performance and User Experience
- Higher WAN Complexity
- Slower Multi-Cloud Adoption
VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud addresses these challenges and allows Cloud Providers to offer SD-WAN managed solutions through both VMware hosted and Cloud Provider hosted models.
