It’s finally here! Full IPv6 support is now live across the CloudLinux Network (CLN), and for all CloudLinux OS versions. Lots of you have frequently requested this update, and this can now ensure that your infrastructure is ready for the future of the internet.
Why Does This Matter?
As the internet continues to grow, the adoption of IPv6 has become essential for modern server infrastructure. By enabling full support, we are providing our customers with three key benefits for all server deployments:
- Expand your service offerings: This update allows you to offer more competitive and modern solutions to your customers, including cost-effective IPv6-only options. By reducing your reliance on increasingly scarce and expensive IPv4 addresses, you can optimize your own operational costs.
- Modernize your infrastructure: IPv6 is the current internet standard, designed for scalability and efficiency. Supporting it is a critical step in future-proofing your operations and ensuring long-term compatibility.
- Meet customer compliance needs: For customers who work with enterprise, government, or educational institutions, IPv6 support is no longer just an option; it’s often a requirement. You can now confidently meet these technical specifications.
How Does It Work?
For all key-based licenses, our systems now automatically detect and register IPv6 addresses. If a server is configured with both IPv4 and IPv6, the IPv6 address will now appear by default in your CLN portal.
If you use IP-based licenses, the license creation field in the CLN portal now accepts both IPv4 and IPv6 address formats.
For customers who automate their workflows, the CLN API now fully supports IPv6 for all relevant operations.
Is Any Action Needed for Your Existing Servers?
This update is fully backward compatible. No action is required for your existing servers, and your current operations will not be affected.
Our focus with this release is to help boost your future growth and provide maximum flexibility for all new deployments.
