Every year, the OVH Summit in Paris celebrates technological innovation and the communities that facilitate it during this free, flagship event open to all professionals in the technology sector. Cloud and hybrid infrastructures were a hot topic at OVH Summit this year, and VMware was on-hand to participate in and contribute to this conversation.
With more than 3,000 attendees and 600 premium customers across various sectors, VMware made its cloud and hybrid infrastructure presence well-known with a packed breakout session around VMware NSX and a seat at the table for SVP and Corporate CTO Ray O’Farrell during the analyst panel discussion.
“OVH is leveraging VMware technology right across the spectrum of everything it does,” Ray said. “That means we will be able to operate and work with them for many years to come as we extend our technology and partnership with them.”
Experts from OVH and VMware demonstrated a number of key technologies, including VMware Hybrid Cloud Extension (HCX), vSAN, NSX and Integrated OpenStack at our booth and during breakout sessions. Many vendors in attendance discussed how these solutions have impacted their business. Therapixel, a company that makes touchless image navigation systems designed for interventional radiology or surgery, uses NSX technology for load balancing among their instances to pass a strong level of reliability onto their clients.
But it was the partnership between VMware and OVH that truly shined throughout the summit. Octava Klaba, Founder and CEO of OVH, noted that the VMware partnership is key for them because of VMware’s clear strategy around software deployment.
Meanwhile, Russ Reeder, CEO of OVH US, praised their acquisition of vCloud Air and its integration with their own cloud services as a winning combination with the potential to conquer the US market and gain market shares. Ray O’Farrell reinforced this sentiment around the strategic partnership with OVH by noting the combination of VMware and OVH fosters an international presence and a great engineering relationship.
